This story was such a good read that I could not put it down. How terribly tragic that Teri had to endure that beating with a baseball bat plus all of the verbal crap and give up her children and life - all because of that CREEP. This is a good story for all women to read especially women who are in a bad marriage or relationship.Product details

It was a very sad story and I hate to take away stars, but this book was horribly written. It was so hard to follow with all the interviews and things included that I had to start and stop reading multiple times. Also, the repetitive phrases that were used (and frequently repeated) throughout the book had me feeling a little ripped off. Glad I didn't pay for the hard cover.
This is the well-written story of an awful domestic abuse situation and survival. Large parts are written in interview format which makes it even more interesting. This book is also very informative on the subject of domestic violence.

Very good book. Very well written. The victim, Teri, was amazingly strong to have survived what she did. I also loved all of the information at the end of book about domestic violence, and how the victims and the abusers can get help.
While I appreciate the intent, I did not like the interview style of writing. That being said, I get that they did not want this presented just as someone's "story" but also as a tool for helping others.

Beaten and Left for Dead is a compelling story about one of the most famous domestic abuse cases in Southern Wisconsin. It is intelligently written with an excellent narrative. The book follows Teri Jendusa-Nicolai through her horrifying experience with domestic abuse and violence, but becomes an inspirational story of survival and hope. The author managed to tackle an incredibly intense and dark subject with respect. The book is inspiring, as well as informative and the interviews have a lighthearted banter that make them feel more personal. An all-around great read.
